The riding program at Waldemar is exceptional! The quality of the program goes back to the 1920s when quadrille, a square dance on horses, began.
It was that same year that W.T. Johnson proudly showed the Waldemar horses at Madison Square Garden. In the 1930s, the late Constance Douglas Reeves was hired to run the riding department and continued the tradition of excellence for the next 66 years!
Liz Pohl, Connie's successor,
has done a tremendous job of
continuing this legacy. The overall curriculum includes Western and English riding lessons, trail rides, quadrille, Polo-Crosse, and the opportunity to qualify for Connie's Cowgirls or Reeves Riders, the elite riding clubs at Waldemar. |
