Waldemar is a camp of the highest ideals and has become synonymous with the finest standards in girls' summer camping. Seeking women who are exceptional
role models and set good examples with their skills, actions, appearance, language and relationships allows us to maintain this level of excellence.

We want staff members who have a genuine love for children and a strong desire to provide a wholesome example for the children whose lives they touch.

The ideal counselor is someone who can embrace our high ideals and strong values and will leave camp knowing she has made an impact on the life of a child, a lifetime of cherished memories, and friends from around the world. While we value the youth and energy that our college-age staff share with our group, we also appreciate the wisdom and maturity brought by our many returning staff who continue to come to Waldemar each and every summer. Some have been coming for over 50 years!

"I have learned so much! I learned how to smile through the hard times and I have learned the power of a smile and a laugh. I have realized the influence that I can have on countless people. Waldemar is truly an amazing place. Touching the life of a child beats summer school hands down!"

"I would like to thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to work as a Waldemar counselor. I believe it was one of the best experiences of my life. The Waldemar atmosphere, such as the nature and people, changed my life in different ways. I came home feeling like I had made a difference in a few girls' lives and that was a great feeling!"
- Rebecca

"This summer has made me open up myself to new people, to children. Children are the hardest people to impress because they don't see the front you put out. They see through pure eyes, the souls of everyone around them. They see strengths and they commend them. They see us as simple human beings. And if you open your heart to a child, you do more than brighten their day. You brighten yours."
- Robin

"I can only pray that I am living up to the expectations you have for your counselors. Waldemar truly is an amazing place and I promise to continue trying to enrich the lives of all those I encounter here."
- Ali
